KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World is getting Season 3 as announced during the special stream earlier today. Studio Drive will be animating the sequel. Megumin spin-off light novel is also getting a TV anime by studio Drive.

Staff info is now available and it’s worth noting that KonoSuba Season 3 shares the staff with the Megumin spin-off anime. It includes:
- Director: Yujiro Abe (episode director on Great Pretender, Kaguya-sama Love Is War 1-2)
- Chief Supervisor: Takaomi Kanyasaki (KonoSuba)
- Series Composition: Makoto Uezu (KonoSuba 1-2)
- Character Design: Koichi Kikuta (KonoSuba)
KonoSuba author Natsume Akatsuki commented on the news:
I didn’t imagine the series would have the opportunity to grow this much before Season 1 aired. I’m looking forward to the broadcast as a fan of KonoSuba’s anime adaptation. God’s blessing on the new adaptation!
Illustrator Kurone Mishima also commented saying:
I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!! I can’t find any other phrase [to express my feelings]. I can’t believe I’ll be able to see them moving in anime again (and the Bakuen series, too!!)…! Congratulations!
The main cast of the anime was present during the stream Jun Fukushima (Kazuma), Sora Amamiya (Aqua), Rie Takahashi (Megumin), and Ai Kayano (Darkness):
KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima is light novel series that first started publishing in 2013. The series ended in 2020, after 17 volumes. The series received multiple spin-offs and side stories, along with an anime adaptation. The first season of the anime adaptation was animated by Studio DEEN. It aired in the Winter 2016 anime season and had 10 episodes. Season 2, titled KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world! 2, also had 10 episodes and aired in the Winter 2017 season. Both seasons were followed by an OVA episode.
J.C. Staff animated the KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world! Movie: Legend of Crimson movie, which premiered in 2019. In addition to TV anime and the movie, KonoSuba is a part of the Isekai Quartet universe.
Yen Press licensed the series in English and describes the plot as:
Game loving shut-in Kazuma Sato’s life as a young schoolboy in Japan abruptly comes to an early end…or at least it was supposed to. When he opens his eyes, though, he sees a beautiful goddess that offers him a once in an after-lifetime chance to be reborn in a parallel world. The catch is that the world is violent and threatened by a growing evil! Fortunately, he can choose any one thing to bring with him. So he chooses the goddess, Aqua! And so his adventure with his gorgeous companion begins–if he could just get enough money and food to survive, keep his goddess out of trouble, and avoid grabbing the attention of the Demon King’s army!
