Let This Grieving Soul Retire anime revealed the main visual and trailer featuring both of the theme songs, along with an October 1 premiere date. Studio ZERO-G is in charge of the animation, with Masahiro Takata as the director.
The main trailer features the opening theme song “Katto Tomorrow” by Lezel and the ending theme song “Scream” by Pmarusama.
The main cast was previously introduced in the first trailer, while the new additions include:
- Jun Fukuyama as Ark Rodin
- Akio Otsuka as Gark Welter
- Haruka Michii as Kaina
Tsukikage writes the Let This Grieving Soul Retire! Woe Is the Weakling Who Leads the Strongest Party (Nageki no Borei wa Intai Shitai: Saijaku Hunter ni Yoru Saikyo Party Ikusei-jutsu) light novel series, which features illustrations by Chyko. It started as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in January 2018, while it was acquired by Micro Magazine in August 2018. There is also a manga adaptation by Rai Hebino. J-Novel holds the English license for the novels, while Yen Press licensed the manga.
The story follows Krai, a young treasure-hunter whose friends seem to be a lot more likely to realize their ambitious childhood dream of becoming the greatest. While he now wants to just retire and give it all up, he will have to live up to the high expectations despite being seen as mediocre.
