The live-action adaptation of Elden Ring is set to release globally in theaters on March 3, 2028. The release date for Japan will be announced at a later time. The film is written and directed by Alex Garland, known for Ex Machina and Annihilation.

Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki had previously expressed openness to an adaptation with the right partner, while legendary George R. R. Martin (Game of Thrones author) later became involved as a producer alongside Vince Gerardis. Producers also include Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, and Allon Reich.

Production on the film officially began in Spring 2026, with the confirmed cast including:

The live-action is based on the action RPG by FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment. The original game released on February 25, 2022, and has surpassed 30 million units sold worldwide. Steam describes the game:
