Soon-to-be-ending Lycoris Recoil anime launched a special page on the official website to celebrate the anime’s protagonist Chisato Nishikigi’s birthday with fans. Chisato’s birthday is on September 23, and the final episode is scheduled to be broadcast a day later, on September 24.
The special page shows a present placed between Chisato Nishikigi (left) and Takina Inoue (right). Fans can tweet their congratulatory messages through the page, and the size of the object will increase depending on the number of posts. A special picture is offered for those who send messages, plus, a special voice message will be available if the box manages to reach a certain size. You can take part and track progress on the official website.
The original story writer Asaura quote-tweeted the post, implying that the achievement will likely be made soon: “Well, I guess [at this pace] it won’t last until the night.“

Studio A-1 Pictures is producing the original anime Lycoris Recoil whose story was written by Asaura, known for his battles-over-bento-boxes light novel Ben-To, and whose characters were designed by Imigimuru, the author of This Art Club Has a Problem manga. Shingo Adachi, who is known as the chief animation director in the Sword Art Online series, is directing the series.
The anime’s official website is available in English as well as Japanese and describes the plot of the series as:
“LycoReco” is a café with a traditional Japanese twist located in downtown Tokyo. But the delicious coffee and sugary sweets are not the only orders this café takes! From delivering packages to short distances, to pick-ups and drop-offs on the lonely streets at night, to zombies and giant monster extermination…?! Whatever your problem, we’re here to help!
