The upcoming Made in Abyss: Awakening Mystery anime movie revealed a new trailer on Friday. Part 1 of the movie is set to premiere in Japan on October 23, 2026. The new film will serve as a direct continuation of the 2022 TV anime Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun.

Made in Abyss, written and illustrated by Akihito Tsukushi, follows the descent of a girl named Riko and a robot boy named Reg into the Abyss, a massive pit filled with ancient relics and mysterious creatures. The manga is serialized on Takeshobo’s Web Comic Gamma and has over 22 million circulating copies. Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the manga in English, describing it as follows:
