The upcoming Puella Magi Madoka Magica mobile and PC game, Magia Exedra, revealed the opening animation video by SHAFT. The video was revealed at AnimeJapan 2025 ahead of the game’s March 27, 2025 release date for iOS, Android, and Steam. The game was initially scheduled for 2024, but was delayed for further development.
The game’s theme song, “lighthouse,” is composed by Yuki Kajiura, the original composer of Puella Magi Madoka Magica’s soundtrack and theme songs. The track is performed by FictionJunction feat. LINO LEIA.
The credits for the opening animation include:

AnimeJapan 2025 and Promotional Events
The news arrived at AnimeJapan 2025, the Magia Exedra booth featured:
- The premiere screening of the game’s animated opening, produced by SHAFT.
- Displays, giveaways, and merchandise sales.
- A social media campaign offering signed items from Aoi Yuki (Madoka Kaname) and Chiwa Saito (Homura Akemi).
A special pre-launch broadcast, “Magia Exedra Tsushin #4 – Pre-Release Special,” will air on March 24 at 8:00 PM JST, featuring Akari Komiyama and Ayana Taketatsu, who will give the last updates on the game before its launch.
Background
Magia Exedra is co-developed by PokeLabo and f4samurai, with PokeLabo also handling management. It follows Magia Record, the previous Madoka Magica mobile game, which ended service on July 31, 2024.
Unlike its predecessor, Magia Exedra introduces a new storyline and gameplay system, with creative input from Gekidan Inu Curry (Doroinu). The game retains turn-based RPG mechanics and integrates elements from previous Madoka Magica adaptations.
The game is published by Aniplex, and Magia Record players will be able to link their data for specific in-game bonuses.
