Maebashi Witches Original Anime Announced for April 2025

Maebashi Witches original anime has been announced for April 2025. The anime is set in Maebashi, Japan, and will follow the coming-of-age story of five high school girls aiming to become witches. Bandai Namco Filmworks (formerly known as SUNRISE) will be in charge of the animation.

Tomokazu Sugita will voice Keroppe, a mysterious frog-like creature that scouts the five girls to become witches. The main voice cast consists of:

  • Sakura Kasuga as Yuina Akagi
  • Hinano Sakikawa as Azu Niizato
  • Rena Motomura as Kyoka Kitahara
  • Haruka Minami as Choco Mitsumata
  • Honami Momose as Mai Kamiizumi

Maebashi is known as the “City of Water, Greenery and Poets,” a slogan that was used as inspiration for the anime visual.

Maebashi Witches – Anime Teaser Visual

The Maebashi Witches unit consisting of the five girls will perform the opening song “Sugosugi Maebashi Witches,” as well as the ending theme and several insert songs. The main anime staff consists of:

  • Character Design / Chief Animation Director: Nozomi Tachibana
  • Music: Yuri Habuka
  • Music Production: Bandai Namco Music Live

There will be a Maebashi Witches unveiling event on September 29 at Keyaki Walk Maebashi in Japan, featuring a series introduction, talk show, live performance, and meet-and-greet. Screenings and additional events will also be held on September 28, October 26, and 27 at various locations in Gunma.
