Clover Press and Marvel have officially launched the Kickstarter campaign for THE MARVEL ART OF MIKE ZECK, the tenth entry in the publisher’s ongoing The Marvel Art Of… artbook line.

The campaign includes a 224-page oversized coffee table book collecting some of Mike Zeck’s best-known Marvel artwork, alongside collectible portfolios, 11” x 17” prints, stickers, puzzles, signed editions, and additional campaign rewards.

As part of the launch, Anime Corner has the opportunity to share some exclusive Spider-Man postcard artwork from the campaign, featuring Zeck’s iconic work on Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars, the storyline that introduced Spider-Man’s black suit design.

Zeck first rose to prominence at Marvel in 1977 as penciler for Master of Kung Fu before becoming one of the publisher’s defining artists through work on Kraven’s Last Hunt, Punisher: Circle of Blood, Captain America, and Spectacular Spider-Man. His work on the original 1986 Punisher miniseries remains especially influential on later interpretations of the character.

“I’m excited to see so much of my Marvel work brought together in one prestige-format volume featuring the characters, covers, stories, and artwork that have connected with readers over the years, and happy to be able to share it with the fans who have supported my work throughout my career.”

Clover Press publisher Hank Kanalz also reflected on Zeck joining the line:

“I first met Mike at the Chicago Comicon in 1986 right after his Punisher was released, and he left such a positive impression on this very impressionable kid. I had the privilege of working with him on a couple of projects over the years, and I am thrilled that in retirement, he’s agreed to be a part of our prestigious The Marvel Art Of… line of art books.”

The Marvel Art Of… series previously featured artists including David Mack, Alex Maleev, Michael Allred, Russell Dauterman, Mike Del Mundo, and Michael Turner.

You can find more details and support the project via the Kickstarter campaign.
