Netflix Goes Down as GTA 6 Extended Look Begins Streaming on Netflix

Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look briefly took down Netflix, as the platform became unavailable shortly ahead of the release. The exclusive look is now streaming, giving subscribers the biggest official look at Rockstar Games’ upcoming game ahead of its November 19, 2026 release.

The presentation premiered on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET on August 27. Rockstar will release the Extended Look for free through its official YouTube channel and the GTA VI website at 9 p.m. ET, giving Netflix a six-hour exclusive window.

The presentation arrives immediately following a series of unauthorized GTA VI gameplay leaks that circulated online. The footage reportedly showed various elements of the game before Rockstar was ready to publicly present them.

Rockstar addressed the situation on August 26, describing the leaks as “heartbreaking” for the development team and saying this was “obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time.” The developer also apologized for the length of the wait for official gameplay and additional information, while noting that development is “nearly there.”

The company acknowledged that some of the intended experience may now be affected by spoilers and asked players to wait until launch to experience the game themselves. It also thanked members of the community who sent messages of support following the leaks.

The game is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026.
