Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden anime revealed a key visual and trailer on Tuesday, along with three additional cast members and an October 6 premiere date. KONAMI animation is in charge of animating the series.
Honoka Inoue stars in the series as Nia Liston and the additional cast members include:
- Fuka Izumi as Lynokis Funk
- Rinna Honnizumi as Hildetaura Altoire
- Rina Hidaka as Reliared Silver
Motoki Nakanishi is directing the anime. Haruta Segi is the assistant director, Gigaemon Ichikawa is in charge of the series composition, Yuki Ito and Kana Tosaoka are designing the characters, and Naoki Endo is composing the music.
The anime is based on a light novel series written by Umikaze Minamino and illustrated by Katana Canata. It was originally launched on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website from May 2019 to January 2021. Hobby Japan acquired the title under their HJ Bunko imprint and began releasing it in September 2022. It currently has 11 volumes available. There is also a manga adaptation by Kabuto Kodai which is being serialized on Square Enix’s Manga Up!
J-Novel Club is licensing the light novel in English, describing the plot as:
A great hero lies undefeated on her deathbed, regretting that she never found a foe who could take her down. She never intended to meet her fate anywhere other than on the battlefield, and her peaceful demise has her wishing desperately that things could have been different… But when she suddenly comes to in the body of the young, frail Nia Liston, she’s got an all-new fight ahead of her. Nia is a sickly child, meaning she has a long way to go before she’s in fighting form. Now that she’s been given a second shot at life, however, she’s determined to get what she wants. She’s going to live—and die—for battle this time! Make way for the Merciless Maiden!
