The upcoming No Longer Allowed in Another World (Isekai Shikkaku) announced two additional cast members at Anime Japan 2024. Hina Kino and Reina Ueda are joining the cast as Melos and Sacchan, respectively. The anime is scheduled to begin in July 2024.
Shigeki Kawai (Uncle From Another World) is directing the anime at Atelier Pontdarc. Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, My Love Story With Yamada-kun at Lv999) is supervising and writing the series’ scripts. Tomoshige Inayoshi and Asako Inayoshi (both on Buddy Complex) are designing the characters and serving as chief animation directors. Kenji Terao is credited for monster design. Kenichiro Suehiro is composing the music. The previously announced cast of No Longer Allowed in Another World includes:
- Hiroshi Kamiya as Sensei (Osamu Dazai)
- Rumi Okubo as Annette
- Sayumi Suzushiro as Tama
- Makoto Koichi as Nir
The anime is based on the manga written by Hiroshi Noda and illustrated by Takahiro Wakamatsu. It has been serialized on Shogakukan’s Yawaraka Spirits website since October 2019 and the first volume was published on April 10, 2020. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the manga in English as No Longer Allowed In Another World and the release date is set for December 27. The plot is described as:
An adventure in another world with cute girls by your side and video game-like powers–sounds like an anime fan’s dream, right? Not so for melancholic author Osamu Dazai, who would quite literally prefer to drop dead. Video games haven’t even been invented yet when he gets yanked into another world in 1948. Really, all the fantastical adventure he keeps running into is just getting in the way of his poetic dream of finding the perfect place to die. But no matter how much he risks his hide, everything seems to keep turning out okay. Follow a miserable hero like no other in this cheerfully bleak isekai comedy!
