The previously announced Oshi no Ko Season 2 revealed a teaser visual and trailer and a 2024 release date on Sunday. Both visual and trailer feature the characters Aqua Hoshino, Kana Arima, and Akane Kurokawa.
Studio Doga Kobo (Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie) animated the first season of the series with Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection Project) as director and Saori Tachibana (Wasteful Days of High School Girls) as assistant director. Jin Tanaka (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club) was in charge of writing the scripts. At the same time, Kanna Hirayama (Rent-a-Girlfriend) did the character designs based on the manga written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) with illustrations by Mengo Yokari (Scum’s Wish).
The cast of Oshi no Ko anime includes Rie Takahashi as Ai Hoshino, Takeo Otsuka as Aquamarine Hoshino, Yurie Igoma as Ruby Hoshino, Megumi Han, as Kana Arima, Manaka Iwami as Akane Kurokawa, Rumi Okubo as Memcho, and Lynn as Miyako Saito.
The series is available to stream on HiDIVE and Netflix Asia and the former describes the story as:
Dr. Goro is reborn as the son of the young starlet Ai Hoshino after her delusional stalker murders him. Now, he wants to help his new mother rise to the top, but what can a child do about the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry?
