The anime adaptation of SSS-Class Revival Hunter will premiere in January 2027, with a teaser visual, first trailer, main cast and staff also revealed. Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will stream the series internationally.

Takeo Otsuka stars as Kim Gongja, with Satoshi Hino voicing the Sword Emperor.

Gongja begins as an F-rank Hunter before obtaining an S+ rank copy skill that activates upon his death. After witnessing a scandal involving the Flame Emperor, the highest-ranked Hunter, Gongja is killed. He subsequently makes use of a copied ability that sends him back 24 hours whenever he dies, setting him on a path of revenge and eventually toward becoming one of the strongest Hunters.

The Sword Emperor is a former top-class Hunter who becomes Gongja’s ghostly companion through his copy skill. After recognizing Gongja’s potential, he begins supporting him as his partner, with the series following the pair as they pursue greater strength together.

Hiroaki Sakurai, known for The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., is directing the anime at STUDIO fu. Sayuri Oba is in charge of the script, while Takahiro Yoshimatsu is serving as character designer.

Hiroaki Sakurai, known for The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., is directing the anime at STUDIO fu. Sayuri Oba is handling the scripts, while Takahiro Yoshimatsu is serving as character designer. Sakurai commented:

“The original work began as a novel before expanding into a comic and gaining popularity around the world. It is an honor to be able to adapt it into an anime, but at the same time, I also feel the pressure.

But! The moment Takahiro Yoshimatsu was chosen as character designer, I felt as though the path toward the anime adaptation suddenly became much wider and clearer. With the staff, cast, and the power of the music further strengthening and paving that road, I feel like we are now steadily moving forward with production.”

Oba commented:

“SSS-Class Revival Hunter is a popular Korean work that excels at roller coaster-style dramatic developments.

At the beginning, the protagonist Gongja is a low-ranking Hunter. However, he learns to make use of the card he obtains and rises through the ranks through a truly ‘die and live again’ cheat-like method.

I hope you enjoy its unpredictable and original story every episode. I believe both longtime fans of the original work and those experiencing the series for the first time will be satisfied.”

Yoshimatsu commented:

“When I received the request to handle the character designs and looked through the original work, I found so many appealing characters!

I immediately felt the urge to draw them.

I thought, ‘This contains exactly the nutrients Yoshimatsu needs right now.’

I’m only participating in the designs for the main characters, but I’m happy to be working with Director Sakurai again after such a long time.”

Crunchyroll will stream SSS-Class Revival Hunter in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, the Indian Subcontinent, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore.

The original Korean webcomic by Shin Noah and illustrated by Bill K debuted in December 2020 and has released 151 episodes to date. An English-language edition is available through Tapas.
