STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT will launch globally on August 20, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. The remake of the original 2009 novel was announced in 2024 and was initially planned to release this year. It will feature updated graphics as well as additional story content.

You can watch the opening movie featuring the iconic theme song “Skyclad Observer” by Kanako Ito below.

The remake will support Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese subtitles. In Japan, the PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam versions will be digital-only.

Steins;Gate was first released for Xbox 360 in Japan in October 2009, while it was later ported to multiple platforms, including Windows, PlayStation, iOS, and Android. It was released in North America in 2014 by JAST USA and in Europe by PQube in 2015.

The franchise also has a manga adaptation by Yomi Sarachi (2009–2013), an anime adaptation by White Fox (2011, 2018), and an animated film (2013). There are also numerous spin-off games, including My Darling’s Embrace (2011), Hen’i Kuukan no Octet (2011), Linear Bounded Phenogram (2013), and Steins;Gate 0 (2015).

A remake, Steins;Gate Elite, was released in 2019 with fully animated cutscenes from the anime. It included an 8-bit style bonus game for the Nintendo Switch version.
