"Stop Piracy" Manga Campaign Releases Thank You Message to People Reading Official Versions

The “STOP Piracy” anti-piracy campaign has released a thank you message for the people reading official versions. The message was released in multiple languages on the official X account, and it features panels from some of the most popular manga series and their characters giving thanks. The featured titles include ONE PIECE, JUJUTSU KAISEN, Attack on Titan, BLEACH, Fairy Tail, Tokyo Revengers, among many others.

“STOP Piracy” Manga Campaign – Thank You Message

Their message reads:
We know how much you love manga of all different strides as well as their creators. That’s why you seek out and read the official versions, even if it takes more time and effort.

We thank you.

You enable creators to continue writing their stories so new manga can be brought to life, leading to more works reaching your country.

The future of manga in your country will keep on expanding because of individuals like you.

The “STOP Piracy” campaign first began in 2020 when ABJ (Authorized Books of Japan) gathered several famous mangakas to launch it. It was created to raise awareness about the effects that piracy has on the industry. Last year, they released a thank you music video with a song by Vaundy.

While the argument that legal manga is not available still holds true to a large degree, it has also become a lot easier to access a lot of it almost as quickly as Japan via official sources. VIZ Media has had the Shonen Jump app and MANGA Plus website for a while. Kodansha launched their own official manga app, K MANGA, last year. Another website that offers officially licensed manga is Manga Plaza, which launched in 2022.
