The preview for episode 12 of Summer Time Rendering anime is here. The episode is set to air on June 30 in Japan and will mark the end of the first cour of the series. Studio OLM is animating the adaptation of Yasuki Tanaka’s manga which is streaming exclusively on Disney+ in select territories.
The official website describes the plot of episode 12 as:
Tokiko, So’s younger sister, says that she has been feeding dead people to Hiruko-Sama, calling them “food”.
Hiruko-sama is actually Heine, a girl in kimono whom a big shadow that appeared at the Nittogashima Shrine on the day of the summer festival called “mother”. Tokiko manipulates the shadows and tries to thwart the plans of Shinpei and his friends and the big shadow appears and takes Mio hostage.
The big shadow also planns to keep Shinpei alive while they prepare for the day of the summer festival.
Summer Time Rendering website also revealed preview images for episode 12:
Summer Time Rendering is based on a suspense-mystery manga by Yasuki Tanaka. Shonen Jump+ online magazine serialized it from 2017 to 2021.
The manga is available on Shueisha’s MANGA Plus platform. The plot is described as:
Upon hearing of Ushio’s death, Shinpei returns to his hometown of Wakayama City on Hitogashima and reunites with his childhood friend’s family. The funeral goes smoothly, but under the surface something strange is brewing on the island. What mysteries await him on this secluded summer island?
