The Apothecary Diaries anime has revealed the first 2nd cour trailer with new theme songs, and the anime is set to continue on January 6. The new opening theme song is “Ambivalent” by Uru, with wacci performing the new ending theme song “Ai wa Kusuri” (Love is Medicine). The first new episode will be the 13th overall, and its title is “Serving in the Outer Court.” Watch the new trailer:
Two additional cast members were also revealed, and they are Takuya Kirimoto as Lakan and Kaori Nazuka as Suirei.
The Apothecary Diaries light novel of the same name is written by Natsu Hyuga, illustrated by Toko Shino, and serialized by Shunfunotomo. The series also inspired 2 manga adaptation, one written by Itsuki Nanao and illustrated by Nekokurage and the other written and illustrated by Minoji Kurata. The former is published by Square Enix and serialized in Monthly GanGan, while the latter is published by Shogakukan and serialized in Monthly Sunday Gene-X The anime series is directed by Norihiro Naganuma, with TOHO Animation Studio x OLM animating the series.
The Apothecary Diaries light novel series has also inspired a short mini-anime series called Maomao’s Diaries (Maomao no Hitorigoto). Maomao’s Diaries stars the main character Maomao, as she explains the important items shown during the week’s current episode. There are currently 12 short episodes and it is streaming on TOHO Animation’s official YouTube channel.
The Apothecary Diaries light novel series is licensed and published digitally by J-Novel Club. The manga adaptation is licensed and published by Square Enix. Square Enix will also physically publish the light novel series in English starting in May 2024.
The Apothecary Diaries anime series is streaming on Crunchyroll in both English subtitles and dubbed. The streaming site described the series as:
