The global surge in Umamusume cosplay events continues! A cosplay meetup is coming to Santa Anita Park this coming Saturday (May 16). And with otaku and non-otaku activities, the Cosplay Trackside eventis bound to be an enjoyable day for the whole family. So if you’re ready for some umazing umapyoi action, Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California is where you need to be!
The Cosplay Trackside event kicks off at noon and will run until 5:30 pm. Attendees can expect live performances, an artist alley, some of the finest food trucks in Arcadia, actual horse racing, and even a car show (the Cal-Rods Car Show).
Admission is $10 for walk-ins. A special “Cosplay Trackside Package” will include a $5 betting ticket in addition to the general admission. (Kudos for replicating Umamusume‘s gacha origins). Children under 17 can enter for free. However, there’s a $5 infield admission for the Cal Rods Car Show.
While several other meetups and even turf-approved cosplay races have happened throughout the US, the Cosplay Trackside event will be the first to happen on a racetrack with ties to Cygames, Inc. Last year, Cygames (the company behind Umamusume) became the main sponsor of the American Oaks. That race took place at Santa Anita Park on December 26.
