Based on the manga by Aka Akasaka (with artwork by Mengo Yokoyari), Oshi no Ko‘s anime adaptation is animated by Doga Kobo. The second is currently simulcasting on HIDIVE, and it’s upcoming live-action recently cast it’s main members. The show is a fan favorite as it consistently ranks in the top five of our weekly polls. What’s Oshi no Ko about? When teenage super idol Ai Hoshino gets pregnant, she attends a remote hospital to keep the scandalous act a secret and protect her career. There she meets Dr. Goro, a gynecologist who happens to be a fan of hers. He vows to protect and help her through her ordeal, but when a crazed Ai fan attacks him and he dies as a result, to his surprise he’s reborn as Ai’s son. While it initially seems as if nothing but peaceful days lay before them, that future is torn apart after Ai’s murder. A murder that causes the reborn Dr. Goro (now named Aqua) to vow revenge for the woman he so loved.
