TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You 2 revealed a new trailer and teaser visual, along with the 2023 premiere date. Studio Seven Arcs is animating the sequel to the rom-com anime.
The same studio also worked on the first season, which aired in 2020, and the two special episodes. The first one was an OVA from 2021, while the second was a web special that will premiere later today (22nd in Japan). The web special was previously set for a summer release but was postponed to fall. The second season of the anime was announced last November. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime, including the specials.
Junya Enoki and Akari Kito are voicing the main duo – Nasa and Tsukasa Yuzuki. Yu Serizawa, Konomi Kohara and Sumire Uesaka are voicing characters in the series.
The anime is based on Kenjiro Hata’s Tonikau Kawai manga series, which has been licensed as Fly Me to the Moon by Viz Media. The English publisher describes the plot as:
From the day his parents named him, Nasa Yuzaki has felt connected to outer space…whether he likes it or not. His efforts to outperform the space program veer off course when an accident introduces him to Tsukasa, a mysterious girl with strange powers. Is she an alien, a moon goddess or something else? Since she insists on marrying him, Nasa will have plenty of chances to find out!
