It was announced that the voice actress Emi Shinohara passed away on September 8 at the age of 61. The official website of her agency, 81 Produce, shared that she died peacefully despite undergoing medical treatment. The full statement reads:

We regret to inform you that our actor, Emi Shinohara (real name Emiko Watanabe), passed away peacefully at the age of 61 on September 8, 2024, after battling illness despite medical treatment. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the kindness shown to her during her lifetime and humbly announce her passing.

The Japanese voice actress was born on August 8, 1963. She was the voice behind many iconic roles, including Makoto Kino (Sailor Jupiter) in Sailor Moon, Kushina Uzumaki in Naruto Shippuden, Kaho Mizuki in Cardcaptor Sakura, Ophelia in Claymore, among many others.
