Witch and the Mercenary Anime Reveals First Trailer, New Cast, April 2027 Release

Witch and the Mercenary anime revealed the first main trailer, along with two new teaser visuals, three additional cast members, and an April 2027 release date.

The newly announced cast members are:

• Yuri Noguchi as Isana Geihorn
• Hiromu Mineta as Alan Close
• Haruka Shiraishi as Elsia Amet

Taito Ban stars as Zig Crane, with Saori Hayami voicing Siasha. You can hear the cast in the new trailer.

Two new teaser visuals were also released, one focusing on Siasha and the other on Zig. Both images pay homage to the cover artwork of the first volume of the original light novel.

The story follows the two after beginning as enemies, with the solitary witch and lone mercenary eventually traveling together in search of a place where they can live. Shinpei Ezaki is directing the anime at studio 8bit. Daishiro Tanimura is handling series composition, Keita Matsumoto is the character designer, and Rei Ishizuka is composing the music.

The anime is based on the light novel series byChohokiteki Kaeru, with original character designs by Kanose Bench. There is also a manga adaptation by Makoto Miyagi. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both, describing the story:
Nothing in this world is more dangerous than a witch. The epitome of fear and terror, they can summon floods on a whim, conjure balls of fire out of the air, or even destroy entire countries overnight. Incur their wrath, and no one is safe.

At least, that’s what everyone thinks, and it’s the very reason they all want Siasha dead. After yet another violent battle for her life, she teams up with Zig, a mercenary, and they depart for unknown lands to find somewhere she can live in peace. But is the pair any match for the lost magic and vicious monstrosities that lie ahead?
