Murder Mystery of the Dead is getting an anime adaptation based on the Japanese murder mystery party game of the same name by Cosaic and Group SNE. The anime is slated to premiere on November 13, with ABC Animation (The Maid I Recently Hired is Mysterious) and Balus teaming up to animate it.
Tomohiro Ishii is directing it, with Ryo Kawakami (also known as Giggle Akiguchi) on the series composition, and Teren Mikami on the scriptwriting. Details about the main cast have been announced as well, which include:

- Tsubaki Makino as Lily Aramaki
- Kiyono Yasuno as Yu Kodama

The Murder Mystery of the Dead board game, released in April 2021, is an experiential mystery game in which players become one of the characters and get immersed in mysteries such as murder cases. Players cooperate with each other and sometimes even clash as characters to investigate the case.
The escape room version of the party game, hosted by Rabbit Hole, sets players in a crumbling civilization due to an uncontrollable zombie outbreak. One day, a mysterious figure in a white coat arrives at a survivor camp, declaring they’ve found an antibody to stop the spread of the infection. Soon after, he’s discovered dead. Meanwhile, attacks by fanatical “zombie believers” surge, whispers of a deranged strangler circulate, and survivors begin vanishing mysteriously.
