100 METERS (Hyakuemu) Anime Reveals Main Visual and Trailer, Theme Song by Official Hige Dandism

100 METERS (Hyakuemu) anime movie revealed the main visual and trailer, along with introducing the theme song by Official HIGE DANdism. Studio Rock ‘n’ Roll Mountain is handling the animation for the anime, with Kenji Iwaisawa as the director. The movie is set to premiere in Japan on September 19, while GKIDS is bringing it to North American theaters in October.

The theme song’s title is “Rashisa,” and you can hear in the new trailer below.

Besides Kenji Iwaisawa, the main staff for the 100 METERS anime includes Keisuke Kojima handling the character designes and serving as the Executive Animation Director, Keikankun Yamaguchi as the art director, Yasuyuki Muto writing the script, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi on the music. The voice cast includes:

  • Tori Matsuzaka as Togashi
  • Shota Sometani as Komiya
  • Kenjiro Tsuda as Kaido
  • Koki Uchiyama as Zaitsu

GKIDS describes the movie:
100 METERS follows Togashi, a track star who is born to run. As a kid, he is naturally gifted and wins every 100-meter race without effort. But in sixth grade, he meets Komiya, a transfer student who is full of determination but lacks technique. In teaching him, Togashi gives Komiya a new purpose: to win no matter what. Years pass by, and Togashi and Komiya meet again as rivals on the track and reveal their true selves.

100 METERS (Hyakuemu) – Main Anime Visual

Hyakuemu is written and drawn by Uoto (who also wrote Orb: On the Movement of the Earth). The manga was published digitally on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website and app, running from November 2018 until August 2019. There is a total of 5 released volumes for the series.
