It has been a week since the first episode of Attack on Titan: The Final Season dropped, which is also when we first heard the opening. The song is titled “My War” and is performed by Shinsei Kamattechan. It got some mixed reactions from the fans, with some being sad that Linked Horizon didn’t return and others just not liking either the song or the visuals. The video features eerie music, coupled with a LOT of explosions which the manga readers seem to approve. Watch the opening on the official YouTube upload:
The video has already grown to fans after these ~7 days. It already has over 7 million views on the YouTube video, which is incredible for such a short timeframe. Then again, the whole franchise is in the spotlight these days due to the manga closing in on the end and the story being amazing! To put it a bit in perspective, both the franchise and MAPPA got trending worldwide after the episode last week. And it didn’t even show any of the scouts yet!
I think the final season opening fits Attack on Titan nicely, and have already enjoyed it a few hundred times. Maybe it’s because I’ve been accidentally spoiled already and can relate with the manga readers, or it just suits my personal tastes. Either way, it’s sure to be talked about in the future. Especially if they add new scenes into it like MAPPA has done in their previous works. New episode today!
