Studio Bind Was Founded Mainly To Produce Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation

If you aren’t watching “Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation”, you’re missing out! Well, it may be subjective, but it’s certainly an anime anyone should try, especially if they’re into the isekai/adventure genre. I previously wrote why I think it might be one of the best shows of 2021. However, now I’ve stumbled upon some sources that confirm that Studio Bind was founded mainly to produce the anime adaptation of Mushoku Tensei!

Studio Bind  Co., Ltd. was established in November 2018 as a joint venture between studio White Fox and company Egg Firm. (Speaking of eggs, watch Wonder Egg Priority too!) White Fox is already known for producing shows like Re:Zero, Steins;gate and Akame ga Kill. On the other hand, Egg Firm is a company which mostly focuses on planning and production. Though they did produce some well-known shows already, such as Sword Art Online: Alicization and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. among others, but they didn’t have a studio. When it comes to Mushoku Tensei, they invested into the actual studio.

According to both companies, they founded Studio Bind because it was necessary to have a proper system to proceed with the continuous long-term and systematic planning to produce Mushoku Tensei. Due to the increasing interest in anime, the number of productions also increased. However, according to the Animation Business Journal, it’s not uncommon for anime studios’ schedules to fill up to several years in the future. It’s also pointed out that some shows didn’t reach sufficient quality due to the demand for quantity and speed. Studio Bind aims to meet the needs of fans by creating an environment where they can focus on Mushoku Tensei properly.

It shows! The anime has beautiful animation and direction and shows great promise. Fans credit the original story by Rifujin na Magonote for popularizing the isekai genre. Some even call it the ‘father of isekai’! I haven’t read the original, but the anime will have 23 episodes, so we will have way more material to judge at the end!

You can legally watch Mushoku Tensei on Funimation. If you enjoyed the last episode, you can also vote it as the best anime of the week on Anime Corner’s poll! It ranked 4th after the first one.

It’s definitely a great anime, and it makes the already awesome Winter 2021 season even better. The synopsis goes:

When a 34-year-old underachiever gets run over by a bus, his story doesn’t end there. Reincarnated in a new world as an infant, Rudy will seize every opportunity to live the life he’s always wanted. Armed with new friends, some freshly acquired magical abilities, and the courage to do the things he’s always dreamed of, he’s embarking on an epic adventure—with all of his past experience intact!
