It is official – Hololive English’s Gawr Gura has reached 2 million subscribers on her YouTube channel. The virtual shark is first among Hololive talents to reach the said number.
This milestone ranks the shark VTuber second among the most subscribed Virtual YouTubers in the platform.
After 127 days since her debut on September 13, 2020, Gawr Gura’s growth has surpassed other Virtual YouTubers in the Hololive roster. She has gained six-figure views and tens of thousands of subscribers a day according to statistics from SocialBlade.
Prior to this, she has already reached her 1 million subscriber milestone on October 22.
The apex predator’s 2 million subscriber milestone happened today, January 18, while she plays Skyrim on stream.
Her fans, named the Chumbuds, has tweeted their congratulatory messages on Twitter, where she has a wide reach with more than 680,000 followers. The said fan name was coined in the chat during her debut stream.
Gawr Gura ascended to Hololive’s English team last July 2020 together with Amelia Watson, Mori Callipe, Kiara Takanashi and Ina’nis Ninomae, forming the #HoloMyth generation.
Gawr Gura’s profile as listed on her YouTube channel and Hololive website describes her:
