Animation studio Kinema Citrus has announced that it will be producing two anime titles – Goodbye, Lara and Ninja Skooler. The original titles were announced during the recent Anime Central 2024 event, with visuals and trailers also released.
Takushi Koide, known for his work as assistant director in Shoujo☆Kageki Revue Starlight: Rondo Rondo Rondo and also animation direction work for The Rising of the Shield Hero, is directing the Goodbye, Lara anime. Its plot is similar to Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid, following the story of a a mermaid who wishes to be loved by a human but tragically dies. She is then reincarnated 200 years later in Lake Biwa in modern-day Japan.
Shunsuke Takarai, who has worked as a key animator for anime titles such as My Happy Marriage, Shangri-La Frontier, and For Whom the Alchemist Exists, is directing the Ninja Skooler anime. The anime is described as a light-hearted tale of the daily lives of students at a ninja school.
Kinema Citrus was founded in 2008 and has produced multiple anime titles such as The Rising of the Shield Hero, Made in Abyss, My Happy Marriage, Black Bullet, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Code: Breaker, among others.
