Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou are writing the script. Screenwriter Philippa Boyens, who worked on the original movie trilogy, is consulting. Sola Digital Arts animated the Blade Runner: Black Lotus series, which is also based on a literary classic.
The War of the Rohirrim movie is not related to Amazon’s Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series, which premiered in 2022.
The movie was initially announced in 2021. The first look happened at today’s Annecy International Film Festival.
