The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup Semifinal revealed a new key visual and trailer, along with an October 2 release date, main staff, and information on the theme songs. Studio M.S.C is animating, with Yoshinobu Tokumoto as the director.

The opening theme song is “Wake up” by Kidella, while the ending theme song is “GLANZ” by emBLEm=ADLER. The opening song is featured in the new trailer.

Besides the director Yoshinobu Tokumoto, the anime staff includes Akiharu Ishii as the character designer and chief animation director, Mitsutaka Hirota in charge of the series composition, Jinya Kimura as the art director, and Chihiro Tamaki handling the music.

The Prince of Tennis is a Japanese manga series Takeshi Konomi, which was serialized in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from July 1999 to March 2008. The sequel, The New Prince of Tennis or The Prince of Tennis II, began serialization in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine in 2009 and is currently ongoing.

An anime adaptation animated by Trans Arts ran for 178 episodes from October 2001 to March 2005. Following it, 26 OVA episodes were animated by Trans Arts and Production I.G. They aired from March 2006 to January 2009.

A 13-episode anime television series adaptation of The Prince of Tennis II ran from January to March 2012. The new The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup aired from July to September 2022, and the World Cup Semifinal is the sequel to that.
