For people who are smitten with AoButa’s main heroine, it’s been happy days. Not only are Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai and Rascal Does Not Dream of Dreaming Girl getting their long-awaited dub, but Mai-san is getting a kawaii new figure. Pre-orders are now open until October 2 for the KD Colle Mai Sakurajima Hoodie Look Rabbit Ears figure.
Based on a Rascal Does Not Dream of Knapsack Girl illustration, the 1/7 scale figure (175mm or 6.8″ in the Lord’s units) features Mai in a comfy-looking bunny-eared pajama and lounge shorts. The figure has two purchasable versions. One in which the pajama is part of the figure (retailing at ¥23,980 or approximately $166), the other features a removable pajama and an embarrassed expression for Mai-san. This version retails for ¥27,280 (~$189). Both versions are sculpted by Naoki Nishimura and feature paintwork by Takeuchi Ham.
Whoever said you can’t buy happiness was sorely mistaken. Because you can buy a figure of Mai-san in nightwear, and that’s basically the same thing. Hell, that’s a surefire way to cure the soul. Imagine waking up every day and seeing Mai-san in thigh highs and loungewear; that’s what you call motivation to face the day. That’s exactly the kind of thing one should see when they wake up in the morning—their waifu in pajamas. So go and buy the KD Colle Mai Sakurajima Hoodie Look Rabbit Ears figure, you’ll always get a smile when you look at it.
Produced by Aniplex and Animated by Clover Works, Rascal Does Not Dream of Knapsack Kid is the fourth installment in Hajime Kamoshida’s Rascal Does Not Dream series. As Sakuta waits for his beloved Mai-san, a mysterious kid who looks exactly like her shows up instead. But before he can get to the bottom of that issue, another one arises, as their estranged mother wants to see Kaede! Once more, Sakuta will have to navigate unfamiliar territory to keep everyone he loves safe.
