Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian (Roshidere) Season 2 has been officially announced immediately after the first season’s finale. You can watch the announcement trailer below.
The anime was voted as the most anticipated show of the season, and it won the six out of eleven weekly rankings so far. They also had a different ending for every episode, with Alya (CV: Sumire Uesaka) singing each of the songs.
The anime is based on a light novel written by SunSunSun and illustrated by Momoco. The novel was initially published online as two short stories on Shosetsuka ni Naro in May 2020, while Kadokawa acquired it in 2021. Momoco shared a special illustration of Alya for the news:
Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket is serializing the manga adaptation by Saho Tenamachi, which was launched in October 2022. The mangaka also shared an illustration to commemorate the Season 2 announcement.
Yen Press licensed the novel in English, while Crunchyroll streams the anime.
The romcom follows Masachika Kuze, a genius with a sad past, as he sits next to a Russian beauty that flirts with him in Russian. She has no idea that he actually understands the language, leading to some awkward moments for Masachika. There is also his sister, Yuki Suo, who shares the past but still openly expresses her love for her brother and causes even more awkward situations for everyone.
