Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF Season 2 has been announced, with the news coming right after the first season finished airing its finale in Japan. Studio Passione is animating the remake, which also included an arc that wasn’t in the original anime.
The first season had Takeo Takahashi as the chief director, Hijiri Sanpei as the director, and character designs by Koji Haneda. A visual for the sequel has also been released.

The first Spice and Wolf anime was animated by studio Imagin and aired in the Winter 2008 anime season through 12 episodes. It received an OVA episode in May of the same year. A second OVA was released in May 2009, and a second 12-episode season by studios Marvy Jack and Brain’s Base aired in the summer of that year.
Isuna Haekura wrote the Spice and Wolf light novel series, which featured illustrations by Jyuu Ayakura. ASCII Media Works published it from 2006 to 2019, releasing a total of 22 volumes. A manga adaptation by Keito Koume ran from September 2007 to December 2017. A sequel novel titled Wolf and Parchment written by Hasekura and illustrated by Hidori is ongoing. Yen Press licensed both the original series and the sequel.
Crunchyroll is streaming Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF. The story follows Kraft Lawrence, a traveling merchant who meets Holo the Wisewolf, a god who brings bountiful harvests. Together they embark on a journey, encountering all kinds of people and events.
