THE ONE PIECE remake by WIT Studio has a new teaser featuring character designs and image boards from the creation process. The anime is a collaboration with Netflix, and the new anime was announced in 2023 with a teaser of ‘Romance Dawn’ starting in East Blue. They previously revealed the main staff members and some new concept art in August 2024.
This comes after Netflix already shared several ONE PIECE-related news earlier in the day. It included the Season 3 live-action THE BATTLE OF ALABASTA releasing in 2027 and a new LEGO special animation project coming to the platform on September 29.

Produced by WIT Studio, THE ONE PIECE is a brand new anime adaptation starting from the original manga’s East Blue saga. Separate from the TV anime series that has charged full speed ahead over the course of more than 25 years, this series taps into the expressive potential of modern technology to offer a familiar yet fresh take on the adventures of Luffy. The rare footage of character design sheets and image boards showcased in this video provides a glimpse into the world of this new anime.

In a previous interview with Real Sound, president of WIT Studio and Production I.G said that they are aware 1000+ episodes are a lot, as well as that younger audiences accustomed to modern anime might find the 25-year-old episodes difficult to watch due to the 4:3 analog format. They see the remake working together with the manga, original anime, and live-action versions of ONE PIECE to expand its reach. Toei Animation has encouraged them to give it their all while they continue with the latest episodes.
Netflix describes the project as recreation of the ONE PIECE manga, starting from the East Blue arc. ONE PIECE by Eiichiro Oda first began serialization in July 1997, and the series exceeded 500 million circulating copies in August 2022. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English, while Crunchyroll streams the anime.
