SunSunSun writes the Roshidere light novel, featuring illustrations by Momoco. The novel was initially published online as two short stories on Shosetsuka ni Naro website in May 2020, while Kadokawa acquired it in 2021. The first season of the anime adaptation by Doga Kobo did well in our Summer 2024 weekly rankings, eventually ranking as the 4th Best Anime. The main voice cast includes:

  • Kohei Amasaki as Masachika Kuze
  • Sumire Uesaka as Alisa Mikhailovna Kujou
  • Wakana Maruoka as Yuki Suo
  • Yukiyo Fujii as Mariya Mikhailovna Kujou
  • Saya Aizawa as Ayano Kimishima
  • Ikumi Hasegawa as Sayaka Taniyama
  • Yoshino Aoyama as Nonoa Miyamae

The main staff for the first season of the Roshidere anime included Ryota Ito as the director and series composer, Yuhei Murota as the character designer and chief animation director, Risa Wakabayashi as the art director, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi on the music.

The romcom follows Masachika Kuze, a genius with an unfortunate family past. He sits next to a Russian beauty, Alisa Mikhailovna Kujo (Alya), who flirts with him in Russian. She has no idea that he actually understands the language, leading to some awkward moments for Masachika. There is also his sister, Yuki Suo, who shares the past but still openly expresses her love for her brother and causes even more awkward situations for everyone.
