It has been clear for a while that Arcane would not be the last show based on League of Legends, and the co-creator Christian Linke has now shared a bit more about what they are looking into for future shows. In a livestream with YouTuber Necrit, he talked about the show, its production, Easter eggs, the involvement from their studio in LA with the French Fortiche, and a lot more. What’s most interesting related to the title, the Arcane co-creator said that they are investing ‘quite a bit’ into all the ‘top voted directions,’ name dropping Noxus, Ionia and Demacia for future shows or movies.

Note that, while not impossible, he did not directly say that each one will be getting a separate show or movie. He said that they start with character stories, adding that he’s confident that they are investing in the right stories based on discussions from players that can be seen online. They aren’t going with just popular characters that win in-game, but rather those that they can feel players love and resonate with.

Throughout the stream, Christian discussed more about some things where it seemed clear that he was careful not to go full Tom Holland. A part of it also involved discussion of Swain, a character from Noxus that is likely to play a huge rule in any more detailed depiction of the region. He was also teased with the raven at the end of Arcane (also in the article thumbnail).

Besides Swain, other Noxus characters that you may be familiar with if you played League of Legends include Darius, Draven, Kled, Riven, Katarina, Vladimir, Talon, among others. We already saw Ambessa, which was recently added as a champion as well.

When it comes to Demacia, some of its characters include Jarvan IV, Garen, Fiora, Lux, Vayne, Morgana, Kayle, Galio, Lucian and Sylas. They are a huge rival kingdom to Noxus, so it wouldn’t be surprising if we saw them in the same show/movie.

Ionia is the place of a lot of cool characters, including the likes of Irelia, Karma, Master Yi, Lee Sin, Shen, Akali, Jhin, Zed, and Kayn. There’s also the story of Yasuo and his brother Yone.

There are obviously way more characters to explore both from those three regions and outside of it, with Freljord also being there, as well as Bilgewater, The Shadow Isles, Shurima, and more.

In an interview with Porygon, Christian Linke also talked about exploring different genres for future shows. He mentioned a horror (can definitely imagine one with Fiddlesticks as the big bad), as well as more abstract and artistic ones.

Going back to the livestream, he talked about how Arcane affects the League of Legends lore, how Blitzcrank was supposed to be a more serious character than he ended up being. When they read a comment asking whether Jinx survived, he said fans should figure it out. He also said that Viktor and Jayce have a brother-like relationship that wasn’t really meant to be romantic, among many other things. You can watch the entire video below.
