Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon The Super Live 2.5D musical show has announced a UK premiere in London for February 2025. The show is based on the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon manga by Naoko Takeuchi. It originally had a preview performance in Tokyo from August 31 to September 9, 2018, while it first premiered in Paris in November of the same year.
The all-female cast for the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon The Super Live consists of:
- Yui Yokoyama as Sailor Moon / Usagi Tsukino
- Yui Oikawa as Sailor Mercury / Ami Mizuno
- Marisa Yasukawa as Sailor Mars / Rei Hino
- Rio Tachibana as Sailor Jupiter / Makoto Kino
- Yu Nakanishi as Sailor Venus / Minako Aino
- Mayu Tsuyuzume as Queen Beryl
- Sufa as Tuxedo Mask / Mamoru Chiba
- Dark Performer Ensemble: Shiho Ota, norip, Miki Furusawa, Yuri Hirano, YOU, Mayu Omoshita
The staff includes Kaori Miura (The Musical The Prince of Tennis, Tokyo Revengers The Musical) handling the script, lyrics and direction, Satomi Toma on the choreography, with Go Sakabe and KYOHEI in charge of the music.
Naoko Takeuchi wrote and illustrated the Sailor Moon. It was serialized in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine from 1991. The same studio animated Sailor Moon Crystal, which was a reboot meant to be a more faithful adaptation of the original manga. The new anime had three anime seasons between 2014 and 2016, as well as two 2-part movies, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie (2021) and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos The Movie (2023).
The franchise has also inspired numerous other adaptations, including live-action dramas, stage musicals, and movies.
