Crunchyroll to Move Most One Piece Episodes to Premium Only Tier

Crunchyroll will be moving most episodes of ONE PIECE anime from the ad-supported free tier to the premium tier, IGN reports. Currently, all episodes of the popular anime adaptation are available for free, but according to IGN, only the first 206 will stay that way. The rest will soon be moved behind the paywall in three phases:

• Phase 1: December 23: Water 7, Thriller Bark, Summit War, and Fishman Island arcs (344 episodes)
• Phase 2: January 20 – Punk Hazard, Dressrosa, Zou, and Whole Cake island arcs plus 6 special episodes (305 episodes)
• Phase 3: February 17 – Reverie, WANO KUNI, and Egghead Island arcs (247 episodes)

Crunchyroll introduced that it would be stopping the ad-supported viewing of simulcast anime titles in March 2022, with some exceptions. The streaming platform currently offers three premium tiers: Fan Tier, Mega Fan Tier, and Ultimate Fan Tier. In many countries and territories, it is one, if not the only option, for seasonal simulcasts.

There is no information if any other anime titles, besides ONE PIECE, will be affected. At the moment, ONE PIECE anime is on hiatus until March 30, 2025. The series will return with Episode 1123, which is the continuation of the Egghead Arc.
