Black Clover Season 2 Gets Early September Screening at Crunchyroll Anime Nights Alongside Firefly Wedding and More

Black Clover Season 2 will be among five Fall 2026 anime titles getting an advance theatrical screening as part of Crunchyroll Anime Nights SNEAK PEEK. The new one-night event will take place on September 21 at 7 p.m. local time in select theaters in the United States and Canada, ahead of the titles’ premieres on Crunchyroll in October. Tickets are now on sale for the event.

The lineup also includes OVERGEARED, Firefly Wedding, The Vermilion Mask and PSYREN. All episodes will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles.

Black Clover Season 2 previously confirmed that Ayataka Tanemura will return to direct the anime’s second season, reuniting the creative team behind both the original TV anime and the 2023 film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King. PIERROT FILMS is animating.

The event will also preview several new adaptations. PSYREN follows high school student Ageha Yoshina after he discovers a mysterious red phone card and becomes involved in a deadly game while searching for his missing childhood friend Sakurako Amamiya. Studio SATELIGHT is in charge of the animation.

Firefly Wedding follows Satoko, a sickly daughter of a noble family whose attempt to secure her future through marriage is disrupted when she becomes the target of assassin Shinpei. To survive, she makes an unexpected marriage proposal to her would-be killer. Studio David Production in charge of the animation.

OVERGEARED follows Youngwoo Shin, a struggling gamer who plays the popular VR title Satisfy as Grid. His fortunes change after discovering the lost knowledge of a legendary blacksmith, although obtaining its power forces him to start again from level one. Studio J.C. Staff is in charge of the adaptation.

Rounding out the lineup is The Vermilion Mask, which follows Peru, a pupil of legendary mask maker Gaston Roux. After losing control to the Mask of the Warrior God and killing his companions and master, Peru sets out to destroy the remaining masks created by Gaston while seeking atonement for his actions. Crunchyroll Anime Nights is a monthly theatrical program held on the third Monday of each month. The program spans more than 280 theaters in the U.S. and Canada, with participating chains including AMC Theatres, Regal, Cinemark, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Harkins Theatres, Cineplex and Landmark Cinemas. The Summer 2026 screening included Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games, Skeleton Knight in Another World Season 2, and Clevatess Season 2.
