Medalist Anime Reveals New Key Visual and Trailer Featuring Opening Song by Kenshi Yonezu

Medalist anime revealed a new key visual and the main trailer, which features the opening song by Kenshi Yonezu. Studio ENGI is in charge of the animation, and the anime is set to premiere on January 4, 2025.

The third trailer for the anime was released last month and featured the ending theme song “Atashi no Dress” by neguse. The voice cast for the anime includes:

Medalist – New Anime Key Visual

Yasutaka Yamamoto is directing the Medalist anime, with Chinatsu Kameyama as the character designer and Jukki Hanada in charge of the series composition and screenplay.

Medalist is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tsurumaikada. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon since May 2020, and it has eleven compiled volumes as of August 2024. The manga series also won at the 68th Shogakukan Manga Award for the general category. Kodansha licensed it in English, and they’ve been releasing it since May 2021. They describe the story:

Tsukasa, whose dreams were crushed. Inori, left to fend for herself. These two share a dream…and their tenacity may be the only thing that sees them through. Their destination? The ice…on the world’s stage!
