One Piece live-action Season 2 actor Joe Manganiello, set to play Mr. 0, has revealed that One Piece Season 3 will begin filming later in 2025. When Cinemablend asked whether he could tease anything about the upcoming Netflix production, Manganiello replied:
“We’ve taken a break between Season 2 and Season 3. So yeah, I’ll be heading back later on this year, and we’ll be working on the next part of the story. So that’s about all I can say.“
One Piece Season 2 wrapped filming in February, releasing a photo of the main cast: Inaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Mackenyu (Roronoa Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Taz Skylar (Sanji), and Jacob Romero Gibson (Usopp). While there’s no confirmed One Piece Season 2 release date, a Netflix article previously teased it for 2025 before removing the passage.
Some fans suspected that One Piece Season 3 was greenlit after a Writers Guild of America entry listed it as a 2025-2026 production. However, this may be subject to change given Matt Owens is still listed as a showrunner. Owens announced that he was stepping away from the series in March, calling it a “life changing journey” and giving his gratitude to One Piece creator “[Eiichiro] Oda, Shueisha, Tomorrow Studios, Netflix, and the entire cast and crew.” It’s unclear whether he will be returning.
