The Ogre’s Bride celebrates its TV anime adaptation and exceeding 5.8 million copies in circulation in a new promo video:

Kureha, who wrote the light novel series, said: “Hello, my name is Kureha. It has been decided that ‘The Ogre’s Bride’ will be made into an anime! We would like to thank everyone who has supported and cooperated with us so far. This work, which started as a short story of about 20,000 characters, was published as a book, then made into a comic, and finally made into an anime, all thanks to the support of many people. Thank you so much. I can’t help but feel excited when I think about what I imagined in my head being played out on screen. I’m happy to finally be able to share this with everyone who supports Onihana. We hope you will continue to support Oni no Hanayome.

Light novel illustrator Yu Shiroya added, “Congratulations on the decision to make an anime of The Ogre’s Bride! I am really looking forward to seeing how my beloved Yuzu and Reiya, along with all the other fascinating characters, will be colored and developed. I am honored to have been involved in such a large project. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the readers who have supported us, to the original author, Kureha-sensei, the comic artist, Togashi-sensei, and to all those involved. We look forward to your continued support.

I’m already excited to see how Yuzu, Reiya, and the little ogres will be portrayed, talk, and move… I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has been involved in this work and to all the readers who have supported me.

Oni no Hanayome (The Ogre’s Bride) by Kureha began as a short story on Start Publishing’s web novel platform, Novema. It was last updated on November 24, 2019. The short story received a full rewrite on the platform (last updated May 24, 2020), before Starts Publishing released the first paperback volume on October 28 that year.

Starts Publishing’s online noicomi manga platform serializes Oni no Hanayome; the first volume was released under the noicomi COMICS imprint on August 26, 2022. The first paperback volume of the light novel’s sequel series, Oni no Hanayome: Newlyweds Arc, was also released on August 26, 2022.

MangaPlaza publishes the manga series in English under The Ogre’s Bride, describing it:
A Japanese-style ayakashi Cinderella story! “You’re the bride I’ve been searching for all this time.” The ayakashi and humans coexist in harmony. The ayakashi, having superior abilities and beautiful appearances, sometimes find their partner among human women, making them their “bride”. The bride, in exchange for bringing prosperity, receives absolute love from the ayakashi. Yuzu is constantly compared to her sister, a bride of a demon fox, and is resented by her family every day. One day, when Yuzu just couldn’t take things anymore, a man appears before her on a bridge. This man is the most beautiful man Yuzu has ever seen… and he’s calling her his wife?! “Just be quiet and let me hold you.” The most powerful, “cold-hearted” ayakashi is pouring his heart out for Yuzu?!
