Warner Bros. Japan on January 22, 2021 announced that they will be producing a Girls’ Frontline Anime. Consequently, they released a teaser video of the anime on March 25. Also, the video also revealed that the anime adaptation will be streaming globally this year.
In addition, key visual were also released.
Lastly, Warner Bros. Japan revealed the casts:
Haruka Tomatsu as M4A1
Nozomi Yamane as M16A1
Emiri Kato as ST AR-15
Yukari Tamura as M4 SOPMOD II
Asahi productions will be in charge of animating the series while Warner Bros. Japan will be supervising the production of the film.
Girls’ Frontline anime is an anime adaptation from Sunborn Network Technology’s Girls’ Frontline, a Chinese smartphone game. The said company and Mica Team has been credited for story of the game. Mica Team is a Chinese doujin game circle which Sunborn take its roots from.
They launched the game at mainland China in May 2016. Also, an English version of the game was launched in May 2018. The Japanese version of it, titled as Dolls’ Frontline, launched in August 2018.
The setting of the story will be on the near future, the year 2060. A military incident caused a widespread disease, which resulted in making the planet uninhabitable. However, a new threat approaches and disposable androids known as T-dolls from the military can only defeat them.
