Fans of Kaiju No. 8 will get their first chance to play the upcoming game adaptation of the anime series at Anime Expo 2025. Akatsuki Games will host a dedicated booth in the Entertainment Hall featuring a demo of Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME.
The game is a battle-focused turn-based RPG where players fight against giant monsters (or kaiju) in cinematic, fast-paced combat. Attendees will be able to try out the demo, which will highlight the game’s control system, Ultimate moves, and detailed kaiju battle sequences. The game was previously also confirmed to feature original story and characters, including Kikoru’s sister, Sagan Shinomiya.
In addition to the Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME gameplay demo, the Anime Expo 2025 booth will offer several interactive elements:
- Photo and ID Station: Visitors will be able to take photos and print custom Japan Defense Force–style ID cards.
- LED Video Wall: Will play official trailers and gameplay footage throughout the event.
- Giveaways: Attendees can pick up limited merchandise featuring original artwork from the game.
Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME is based on the Kaiju No. 8 manga by Naoya Matsumoto, which began serialization in July 2020 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform. The series is set to end in two more chapters with Chapter 129. Viz Media is publishing it in English. Season 2 TV anime is also currently in production and set to premiere on July 19.
