Kaiju No. 8 manga officially ends after 1 more chapter, with the final one (Chapter 129) set to release on July 18. The manga confirmed that it would be concluding soon on June 6, following the release of Chapter 127 in Japan. It will conclude a 5-year serialization, which started on July 3, 2020 on the Shonen Jump+ platform.

The latest chapter also brought a new wallpaper featuring Hoshina, and you can check that out below.

Kaiju No. 8 manga by Naoya Matsumoto began serialization in July 2020 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform, and a total of 15 volumes has been published as of March. It has over 18 million copies in circulation, with Viz Media publishing it in English.

Season 1 of the anime adaptation by Production I.G ran from April to June 2024. It came back early this year with the Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon recap movie, as well as the Hoshina’s Day Off special episode. Season 2 is set to premiere on July 19, with Crunchyroll, X, and Netflix (in select regions in Asia) set to stream it.

The main trailer for the new season introduced the new opening theme song by Aurora, titled “You Can’t Run From Yourself.”

The franchise also has an upcoming game adaptation, Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME. The will show its first demo next month at Anime Expo 2025, while it has already reached over 300,000 pre-registrations globally. It is set to launch later in 2025.
