HYBE’s original webtoon DARK MOON: THE BLOOD ALTAR has officially surpassed 200 million global views, according to an announcement released today.

Published in 10 languages, the webtoon has performed strongly across multiple regions. According to NAVER WEBTOON, the series has accumulated 63.6 million views in the United States and 36.3 million in Spanish-speaking markets. It reached the No. 1 spot in the fantasy genre for 20 consecutive weeks in China and 10 weeks in Germany. In North America, it remained in the Top 10 Sunday Webtoons for 26 consecutive weeks, and in France, for 60 weeks.

DARK MOON: THE BLOOD ALTAR is part of a larger intellectual property created by HYBE in collaboration with K-pop group ENHYPEN. The story, available as both a webtoon and a web novel, centers on seven vampire characters and a mysterious girl. An anime adaptation was announced in September 2024.

ENHYPEN’s involvement with the series has included original music contributions and references to DARK MOON in albums and music videos. Their track “CRIMINAL LOVE” (2023), featured in the series, topped the iTunes Song Chart in eight countries. HYBE’s official statement:

HYBE also announced that “Chapter 4: Sad Happy New Year” of the prequel series CHILDREN OF VAMFIELD by DARK MOON will be released on August 31.

Dark Moon: The Blood Altar initially ran for a total of 70 chapters from January 2022 to August 2023, with Yen Press publishing an English print version under its Ize Press imprint. The webtoon is available in English on WEBTOON, where its story is described:
