July 14 marks the birthday of Tanjiro Kamado from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and a special 2025 birthday illustration by ufotable has been released. This is coming only 4 days before the premiere of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Movie 1 – Akaza’s Return, for which Tanjiro was the first character to get a special visual.
The studio is also known for commemorating other big dates like Christmas, New Year, or Valentine’s Day.

Background on Demon Slayer
The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga was created by Koyoharu Gotoge, being serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020. It was compiled into a total of 23 volumes.
The anime, produced by ufotable, premiered in April 2019 with a 26-episode first season, followed by the breakthrough Mugen Train film in 2020. The movie became a box office sensation in Japan and played a major role in popularizing anime films globally. A revival screening of Mugen Train began in Japanese cinemas earlier this year to hype the new release.
The anime’s release timeline to date includes:
- Season 2: October 2021 – February 2022 (including a re-edited version of Mugen Train)
- Season 3: April – June 2023
- Season 4: May – June 2024
The official trailer for the upcoming Infinity Castle trilogy was shown on June 28 and exceeded 40 million views within the first 24 hours. The Infinity Castle storyline will be adapted into a three-part film series, with the first movie premiering in Japan on July 18, 2025. The international releases are set to follow between August and September.
