The preview for Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 episode 2 was revealed on Thursday. The episode titled “The Next Generation’s Trial” will be released on Saturday, July 26. Crunchyroll is streaming Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 with English subtitles. The series will also stream on X and Netflix (in select regions in Asia).

Kaiju No. 8 has finally returned for its second season, as the “Kaiju Weapon Arc” is underway. One Republic returns for the new season, performing the new ending theme titled “Beautiful Colors.” Meanwhile, AURORA is performing the opening theme titled “You Can’t Run From Yourself.”
Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 episode 2 synopsis:
A huge cave-in suddenly hit Shinagawa. What emerged from the great cavern were countless giant ant-like monsters. The first unit, to which Kafka and Kikoru belonged, was sent out, and under Narumi’s direction, the members of the unit swiftly completed their mission. While Kikoru defeats the monsters one after another and achieves the expected results, Kafka, who is under the watchful eye of the defense force, also confronts the monsters in order to prove his worth.
Shigeyuki Miya returns to direct the new season with studio Production I.G continuing to handle the animation production. Season 1 of Kaiju No. 8 originally aired for 12 episodes from April 13 to Jun 29 in 2024, eventually winning Sci-Fi Anime of the Year and placing third at the Anime Corner 2024 Yearly Awards.

In a world plagued by creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspired to enlist in The Defense Force. He makes a promise to enlist with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. Soon, life takes them in separate ways. While employed cleaning up after Kaiju battles, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa. Reno’s determination to join The Defense Force reawakens Kafka’s promise to join Mina and protect humanity.
