The upcoming Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc film will launch in Japanese theaters on September 19, with an IMAX version screening simultaneously at 61 locations nationwide. A new poster featuring Denji with the Shark Fiend Beam, was also released to promote the release.

Ahead of the premiere, ABEMA will air a special program on September 5 at 8:00 PM. The broadcast will be hosted by comedian Kendo Kobayashi and feature appearances by Denji’s voice actor Kikunosuke Toya, comedians Crystal Noda (Magical Lovely) and Shogo (Tokyo Hoteison), freelance announcer Neki Matsuzawa, and Vivian Murakawa from the idol group CANDY TUNE. The show will take viewers inside animation studio MAPPA, share comments from musician Kenshi Yonezu (who is performing both the opening and ending themes), and deliver the latest updates on the film.
Chainsaw Man Digest Edition & New Short Anime
Following the special, ABEMA will exclusively premiere a digest version of the Chainsaw Man TV anime the same day. The re-edited compilation will condense the 12-episode anime into a single special, and it will also debut a newly animated short titled Chainsaw Biyori (Chainsaw Days), based on the manga’s bonus chapters. Other streaming platforms will begin offering the digest edition starting September 12.
Studio MAPPA is in charge of the animation, with Tatsuya Yoshihara taking over as director from Season 1’s Ryu Nakayama. The anime movie is set to premiere in Japan on September 19, with international release dates beginning from September 24. It will premiere in U.S. theaters on October 29, 2025.
Tatsuki Fujimoto writes and draws the Chainsaw Man manga, which has been split into two parts: the second part has been ongoing since July 2023. MangaPLUS app is publishing it in English: all chapters are available to read for free while using the app. Viz Media is in charge of physical releases.

Denji became “Chainsaw Man”, a boy with a devil’s heart, and is now part of Special Division 4’s devil hunters. After a date with Makima, the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain. There he meets Reze, a girl who works in a café.
