In more recent trademark sleuthing, Shueisha has filed a trademark registration application for a certain SAKAMOTODAYS Mission: Rogue Dawn. The application was made public on December 1 and filed on November 20.
The trademark classes, which encompass all the possible use cases of this SAKAMOTODAYS Mission: Rogue Dawn, are classes 9 and 41, which can correspond to a lot. Given the name and prior Shueisha applications, such as for My Hero Academia: All’s Justice (also classes 9 and 41), SAKAMOTODAYS Mission: Rogue Dawn likely refers to a game. Nothing’s confirmed, however, so we’ll keep an eye out. Shueisha similarly filed a trademark application for a BLEACH Mirrors High in August (9, 41).
Coming up for the SAKAMOTO DAYS franchise is the live-action film, set to premiere in Golden Week 2026. Yuichi Fukuda directs the film; Ren Meguro stars as Taro Sakamoto, and is joined by Fumiya Takahashi as Shin Asakura, Aya Ueto as Aoi Sakamoto, and Miyu Yoshimoto as Hana Sakamoto. CyberAgent subsidiary company Goodroid released a SAKAMOTO DAYS Dangerous Puzzle game in April. A worldwide release date has not been confirmed yet.
The SAKAMOTO DAYS manga is available on MANGA Plus and the Shonen Jump app. It’s described:
Taro Sakamoto was the ultimate assassin, feared by villains and admired by hitmen. But one day…he fell in love! Retirement, marriage, fatherhood and then… Sakamoto gained weight! The chubby guy who runs the neighborhood store is actually a former legendary hitman! Can he protect his family from danger? Get ready to experience a new kind of action comedy series!
You can also check out Shueisha’s recent trademark application for Uchino Otouto-domo ga Sumimasen, likely referring to the manga published in Bessatsu Margaret magazine since 2020. Notably, the application featured a new logo unlike its manga and 2024 live-action. A domain seemingly linked to an anime adaptation was recently registered.
